Submissions

We want your articles!

We encourage you to submit articles and reviews to Biblical Missiology! Please send your submissions to editorial@biblicalmissiology.org.

Core to our writings is the Word of God, and thus all articles must be rooted in His Word. We have created a Statement of Practice that we believe addresses many missional concepts according to the Word of God. We ask that all writings be in alignment with our Statement of Practice. Any writings conflicting with our Statement of Practice will not be published.

Audience:

Our target audience is mainly the average Christian in the church or the average missionary who is trying to learn about Missions and different methods and strategies. While articles can be deep and somewhat academic, they need to explain more complex concepts so that a new reader can understand what’s being discussed.

Articles:

We are looking for the following types of articles (Avg 2-7pgs):

  • Articles that proactively promote methods, strategies, theological views and ideas on how to do missions, proclaim the gospel, live the Christian life, all biblically.
  • Articles that analyze current trends and how they stack up to Biblical analyses.
  • Articles that are reviews of trainings, books, videos, etc…

Pseudonyms:

The Journal of Biblical Missiology is committed to maintain a clear position on missiological concepts and strategies that are rooted in sound biblical principles. We understand that missionaries often live and serve in countries that are antagonistic to Christian missionary work. We recognize that some of them make use of pseudonyms to protect their identity for security reasons; however, some do so out of fear rather than wisdom. While we respect individual choice in this matter, we believe that accountability is a central tenet of gospel proclamation, and want to be carful not to endorse infidelity to the word of God.

We believe that missionary work should be carried out in faith and fearless determination. Boldness is the norm because it is a natural expression of faith in the God who assured us “Do not be afraid, I am with you.”

Therefore, we allow the use of pseudonyms only under these conditions:

  1. the author is willing to share with Biblical Missiology their real name,  field of service, missions organization and church affiliation, and potentially other information to allow our editors to assess their request for pseudonym use.
  2. the author presents us with an explanation of why a pseudonym is necessary especially in case of legitimate security concerns.
  3. articles written under pseudonyms must contain a disclaimer containing the following:
  • A statement that a pseudonym is being used
  • A contact method whereby readers may reach the author to ascertain their true identity

It is important to note that while pseudonyms serve a useful purpose, they can be used in ways that are not biblically faithful. Biblical Missiology does NOT allow pseudonyms to be used when they stem from fear, which includes the following purposes:

  • To avoid openness and accountability.
  • To hide an author’s theological or missiological positions from supporters.

For more information regarding pseudonym use, please email editorial@biblicalmissiology.org.

Biblical Missiology allows the use of pseudonyms, but only under very specific circumstances:

  • There must exist a legitimate danger to the author
  • Biblical Missiology must know the author’s real identity
  • The author must be willing to share previous works, missions organization and church affiliations, and potentially other information to allow Biblical Missiology editors to assess their request for pseudonym use
  • Articles written under pseudonyms must contain a disclaimer containing the following:
    • A statement that a pseudonym is being used
    • A contact method whereby readers may reach the author to ascertain their true identity

It is important to note that while pseudonyms serve a useful purpose, they can be used in ways that are not biblically faithful. In general, Biblical Missiology does NOT allow the use of pseudonyms when they stem from fear, which includes the following purposes:

  • To avoid openness and accountability to the Church
  • To hide one’s theological or missiological positions from supporters
